OPEN's ‘Foshan Project Exchange and Observation Meeting’ was held successfully
2025-04-07 14:36On 27th March,OPEN Project Exchange and Observation Meeting was successfully held in Foshan, Guangdong Province, with more than two hundred representatives from 29 owner units, 54 design units and management companies from all over the country coming to the site.
The project is EPC general contracted by OPEN EPC, built with armour frame structure, with a total floor area of 118,601 sqm and a total height of 67.5 metres, lorries can be driven directly to the 6th floor through the tray way, which is one of the highest warehouses in China.
Welcome Address
Chen Ming, Chairman of OPEN, made the opening speech of the conference, he said: since the first project of the CS-Frame System to today, the application project has reached 3.5 million square metres, and has been unanimously recognised by customers, which is very gratifying. We also hope that we can cooperate with more customers, design units and industry colleagues in the future for mutual benefit and progress.
The
representative of the owner's unit shared from the perspective of the
A-side: this project, as the tallest multi-storey warehouse in Guangzhou
and Foshan, is positioned as an intelligent logistics hub in Guangdong,
Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area. At the early stage of design, the
team compared traditional solutions such as cast-in-place frame
structure and heavy steel frame, and found that there were problems such
as long construction period and high cost, while the armour frame
system was free of formwork construction, lighter beam and column
members than traditional steel structure, and had a high lifting
efficiency on average per day. At the same time, in view of the
successful cooperation experience with OPEN team in three projects in
East China, the final choice of shell structure scheme.
The current construction schedule nodes meet the requirements, thanks to the technical synergy of the shareholders, designers, management company, OPEN team and the efforts of the construction team. Practical data shows that the system can shorten the construction period by more than 10 per cent compared with traditional cast-in-place structures.

On-site Observation
Observation is divided into four teams, each team is equipped with a lead team lecturer and assistant, led to carefully observe the main body of the CS-Frame System , nodes and other structural parts, the design and application of the design and installation of the construction and other issues raised by everyone made a detailed answer.
Afterwards, they came to the lifting area and watched the lifting process of the armour beams, and were impressed by the safe, fast and efficient construction method.

observation meeting also specially invited Professor Tong, a doctoral
supervisor of the School of Architectural Engineering of Zhejiang
University.
Professor
Tong explained the role and advantages of corrugated steel sheet from
the structural principle, illustrating the concept of saving steel
consumption and using good steel on the knife edge, and obtaining better
economy while meeting the structural requirements. With out-of-the-box
thinking to find new breakthroughs for traditional technology, we expect
OPEN will have more innovations in the future and contribute to the
development of the industry.
Mr Lin, Chief Structural Engineer of Guangdong Provincial Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. shared his feelings about the crust structure and the visit with the audience. Through continuous communication and Q&A with Mr Chen, he gained a more comprehensive understanding of the technology of crust structure. Mr Lin also suggested that due to the concrete inside the crust structure, the fireproof performance has been greatly improved, and in terms of fireproof coating can actually be omitted or made thin, so that the crust structure can be better promoted.
Interactive Exchange
The site visit was followed by an interactive exchange session. In response to the questions raised by everyone, Mr Ye, Vice President of OPEN, gave professional answers one by one, combining example demonstrations with data comparison.
